Landscape of Internal Baptism
Landscape of Internal Baptism is a project that also began on the PostGraduate Diploma in Art & Design at the Royal College of Art. This comprises of a series of live multimedia sculptural installations and performances accompanied with text. They allude to the internal and external body, drawing parallels with the landscape of rivers and earth.
Semi concealed in a river of fabric, I use my body, clay and water to create a visual narrative that is live recorded and projected on to the fabric. Playing with perspectives through various cameras and projection feedback, abstraction and narratives, I create an endoscopic journey through the body starting with the mouth. Having had multiple endoscopies and a major life-changing stomach surgery last year, this surgical landscape-body visual narrative navigating through bodily boundaries to expose what unites us all. Images of my development exploring touch and embodiment through form and material are shown at the end of the page.
Selected recordings were shown, projected on another sculptural fabric backdrop at Hedonist Festival in London, June 2023.
